February 20, 2021 – Almazy Anabara, an ALROSA Group enterprise, and municipal uluses (districts) of the Republic of Sakha (Yakutia) signed agreements on social and economic development.
These annual agreements are signed with the heads of Anabar national (Dolgan-Evenki) ulus, Olenyok Evenki national ulus, and Eveno-Bytantaysky national ulus under the Company’s approved budget. In 2021, Almazy Anabara plans to spend about RUB 109 million on the social and economic development of these uluses.
Every year, Almazy Anabara signs agreements on social and economic cooperation with the five regions of Yakutia. “As a matter of course, agreements have also been signed with Bulunsky and Zhigansky uluses. But the most important thing is that we are good neighbors with our municipalities and, above all these official financial injections, we help each other on a daily basis,” said Pavel Marinychev, General Director of Almazy Anabara.
The decision on cooperation between Almazy Anabara and the uluses was made to protect the population of the territories located near the Company’s production facilities for the entire period of subsoil use. Meanwhile, compliance with environmental regulations, vocational training and employment of the local population remain the Company’s key priorities.
